CINAHL is a nursing database subscribed to by Seneca Libraries. Log in using your Seneca username and password.

To search CINAHL:

  1. Enter your keywords in the search box.
  2. Check the boxes "Full Text" and "Peer Reviewed" (if required by your instructor) under 'Search Options -- Limit Your Results'.
  3. Submit your search. You'll first see your search history, which you can combine or modify. Scroll past this to see your results.
  4. Click on the title of an article if you'd like to see more information about it, and click the PDF link at the top left of the page to open the full article. With your article open, you may print, email or save the article using the options.

CINAHL retains your search history so your prior searches can be combined and manipulated to find the best results for your topic.

In the image below we've performed three searches, one for arthritis (S1), one for depression (S2), and one that combined our first and second searches (arthritis AND depression) and added a full-text limit (S3). To combine searches, select which previous searches to include in your new search and use the Search with AND or Search with OR buttons above the Search Options.
