First you'll need to find our databases. You can do that either by looking for a specific database, or by searching multiple databases using the library website.

To search for specific library databases:

  1. Visit the library website.
  2. Click the Databases A-Z button beneath the search box.
  3. Narrow down your options using the menus at the top of the page.
  4. Click a database's title and follow the prompts to login using your Seneca username and password.
  5. Begin searching.

To search multiple library databases:

  1. Perform a search related to your topic on the library website.
  2. Select the Full Text Online limit under 'Availability'. Most online content is available through library-subscribed databases.
  3. Opening an item's record will tell you which database(s) it's housed in. Choose a database to view the content.

What login information do I need?

You need your Seneca username and password to log into databases unless otherwise indicated.

Are there restrictions to database access?

  • You must be registered in the current term (Fall, Winter, Summer) to have access to the library's digital resources on or off campus.
  • Databases must be accessed through the library website for authentication purposes.

I'm having trouble logging into Seneca's databases

If you're on campus, please make sure you're using the SenecaNet wireless network; the SenecaGuest network will not allow access to library resources.

Otherwise, if you are currently taking courses and should have access, please use our email form to send us detailed information.

Try to include:

  • The error message you're given
  • Your name and student number
  • Your Seneca email address
  • Your Course/program name
  • The start and end dates of your course/program

It also helps us to know if the issue persists across different browsers, if it happens on and/or off campus, or if it's affecting only one database or multiple.

We will follow up with you to investigate the issue.
