If you're looking for articles with a certain word count to suit your assignment, you've probably noticed that our library search doesn't offer word count as a limiting option.

While our library search doesn't have this feature, certain databases by ProQuest, Gale, and EBSCO may (with some exceptions). 


ProQuest Databases


List of ProQuest databases 


Usually searchable by Word Count


To search by word count, type WC(word count range) into the search box along with your keywords.

e.g.
WC(2000-2500) AND your keywords
WC(<500) AND your keywords

Gale Databases

Usually searchable by Word Count


Navigate to the Advanced Search screen. Add the word count range you're looking for in the search box then select the Word Count field from the drop down menu.

500-1000 [WORD COUNT]

Can usually limit by page count,
but not word count


The Page Count filter can be found in the advanced search filters beneath the search box.
