To comply with copyright regulations, these vendors insist upon user authentication as a prerequisite for accessing its films. Since these online meeting platforms’ screen-sharing feature does not necessitate individual logins, displaying a film from these vendors through one of these platforms will only show a black screen and/or no sound to participants. We suggest that professors who plan to discuss a film from these vendors on Zoom or other online meeting platforms share the film's link and request students to mute themselves, switch to a different browser tab, watch the chosen clip, and then return to the meeting session.
