If you are faculty, please see FAQ version for faculty.

There are a number of courses in the School of Nursing that now subscribe to Elsevier Evolve, a “one-stop portal for accessing online educational materials.” Unfortunately, due to licensing availability, Seneca libraries will not be able to acquire electronic format of these textbooks. Please note that the library cannot simply acquire eBooks available on the market. Unlike eBooks that are purchased for personal use, libraries can only purchase eBooks with appropriate “institutional” licensing which permits library users (those who are members of that institution) to freely borrow according to the licensing agreement. Whether or not an eBook has institutional licensing for library acquisition is fully at the discretion of the publisher/copyright owner.

Nursing students can purchase their textbooks through Seneca bookstore or Elsevier. To explore other purchasing options, see our FAQ on “Where can I purchase a textbook?” Please note that Elsevier also provides supplementary student resources. These resources are usually free with the purchase of an eBook or a new print hardcopy. However, if you have purchased a used copy of the textbook there is an additional fee to access these materials. Please contact your course instructor or Elsevier for more information.

NOTE: As this is strictly between Elsevier and School of Nursing, Seneca Libraries will not be able to provide any technical support, including assistance with purchase, access, or troubleshooting connectivity issues.
