The Nexis Uni database allows users to create lists of companies that meet certain criteria – for example, companies operating within specific industries, areas, or of a certain size. This may help in identifying competitor companies, or companies that meet specified criteria.

  1. Start at the Company Information guide and sign in to the Nexis Uni database
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Nexis Uni homepage, and click on the ‘Business’ tile (under ‘Discover topics’)
  3. Under ‘Company Dossier’, click on ‘Create a Company List’ to go to the list builder page.
  4. Use the fields in the ‘Create a Company List’ form to add the criteria for the search – for example, Sales/Revenue, NAICS, Country, etc. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ‘Create’.
  5. View the results on the ‘Your Company List – Preview’ page. For more details, or to export the list to Excel, scroll to the bottom of the ‘Your Company List – Preview’ and click ‘Customize
  6. On the ‘Customize Your Company List’ page, select the number of results to return, sort order, and attributes to appear in the company list. Then, click ‘Update’.
