Seneca Polytechnic does not have a preferred citation style. It tends to depend on the course/program.

  • Students should check with their instructor as to whether there is a preferred style for their course or program. It may also be listed in the course outline or on the assignment handout.
  • Faculty should refer to the chair of their program to check if there's a recommended style for the program. If there's no preference, they can use their preferred style.

The library primarily supports both APA and MLA styles of citation. To prevent plagiarism always cite sources. Please visit our citation guides for information on how to cite, or visit the library in person.
