Trademarks, including logos, aren't covered by copyright law. Logos are generally covered by trademark law which doesn't have educational exceptions such as fair dealing. To be cautious, it's best to avoid the unauthorized use of trademarks.

If you want to use logos and other trademarks, permission is generally required. To get permission, contact the organization directly or check their website for brand guidelines (e.g. Meta) to determine what's permitted when it comes to using their logo.

The use of Seneca Polytechnic's logo in an assignment or internal purpose may be permissible. It's important to avoid any use that misrepresents or imitates the Seneca brand including use that implies the Polytechnic's endorsement. It's also best to refrain from using the logo if the material will be shared externally, such as on social media or a website.
