There are several circumstances whereby a work would be accessible from Seneca Libraries but would not be discoverable using library search.

  • Online resources licensed for a specific course
    Sometimes it's too costly to license an online work (book chapter, streaming video, etc.) for Seneca-wide access. In these cases, it is licensed for use via Online Course Readings where only students in a given class have access to the work.
     
  • Recently added eBook titles
    Some eBook collections add titles on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. There is a lag time before the newest books appear in library search. They are added on predetermined schedule given current staffing resources.
     
  • Recently added articles
    Large magazine, newspaper and journal article collections add and drop titles on a regular basis. There is a lag time before the newest titles appear in library search. Holdings are updated on predetermined schedule given current staffing resources.
     
  • Freely available websites with authoritative content are often only listed on Subject Guides.
