Here are some reasons you should always think about a website before trusting the information it shares:
The quality of information varies tremendously
Anyone can make and publish a website
Most websites don't employ editors or fact checkers
You need reliable resources for your assignments
There are many things to take into consideration when you evaluate an article. Some of it may be determined by your instructor or the subject area.
You may want to perform a CRAAP test to see if the website you are using is trustworthy. CRAAP stands for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy and Purpose and the test provides a series of questions you can answer about an article which will help you evaluate its content.
