You can place a hold on books from any of our libraries as long as the book is in the General Collection.

To do that:

  1. Find the book you want in our library search and click the title to open the record.


     
  2. Log into your library account through the Sign in link on the yellow bar. If you're already logged in you can skip this step.

     
  3. Click Request under the Get it heading. Request only appears when you're logged in. 

    (Logged in but don't see a request button? The item may not be holdable. Get in touch with us if you're not sure.)
     
  4. Fill in the form. Make sure you select the campus where you want to pick up the book.
  5. Click submit.


How long does it take, and how will I know when to pick it up?

Is the book at another campus? Factoring in travel time, it can take 2-3 days in that case. If the book is already located at your pickup campus then we often process it within a day.

When your book is ready for pickup an email will be sent to your My.Seneca email address automatically. Pick up your hold items at the Library Service Desk at your requested campus.

You have 7 days to claim your holds before they are returned to the shelf or signed out to the next person in line.
