Sometimes the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software that is used to download ebooks fails with the message "License Server Communication Problem : E_ADEPT_XML_SYNTAX".

To rectify this problem, uninstall the ADE software on your computer, restart your computer, reinstall ADE from the Adobe site and reauthorize it with a valid Adobe ID. Now go through the download process again for the ebook title you want.
